We All Want the Same Thing

I believe we do all want the same thing, and that thing is deeply embedded in our nonverbal brains, probably inherited by millenia of selection — or we were created this way, it doesn’t matter how it got there, I think it is there.

All the religions have grown up around a recognition of this reality. We can’t express it clearly because it is so deep in our nonverbal makeup, but all the signs are there and some people are able to connect with them. Jesus, the Buddha, the seven tribes.

If we all want the same thing, why are we always fighting over a lot of other things? Why don’t we just join hands and set out to get what we all want together?

I have some ideas why this is so. Maybe you do too.
